Some guy went for a drive to escape his housemates having loud sex, he got a fine even though he was just in his car. People are just out here minding their own business with or without masks and being pulled up for ID and questions about where you’re going. But, the main message that was taken away is that “non complying” idiots, or covidiots, are ruining it all for the rest of us. But the one thing we keep hearing as justification why we need cops everywhere is that we are being bad and not staying home. Most of us have been in lockdown for months. We were told 30% of infected people were not staying home after testing positive. While other states only had a .2% “non compliance” statistic. It turns out, police had been establishing the where abouts of not only covid positive people, but their close contacts as well.  Victoria police and other government workers were caught on camera preventing food from getting inside the buildings, I can’t remember everything that happened in the towers but it was awful. The cases for infections in my state were sky rocketing and I’m sure we are still to learn how exactly we became worse off than the rest of the country, but of lot of the outbreaks are attributed to health care workers (aged care is basically on strict lockdown across the board, no visitors and corona is basically just tearing through our aged care) and casual workers, like in factories. The police are enforcing all of this. About a week before these new restrictions, it seemed like it was tested on a few commission housing flats. I think they were in “lockdown” a week or two before the rest of the state. Two weeks ago, Melbourne went in to “Stage 4” restrictions. We have curfews, can’t leave over 5km of our homes, mandatory masks and can only leave home for 4 reasons including shopping. You’re allowed outside for an hour of exercise. Along with the 70billion other rules that change daily in our state for the past few months. Finally, all work has stopped, except for essential workers like those in health care.
