I’m so sorry to hear that. Losing a parent is such a confusing thing. Not knowing how to react or if you’re reacting the way you think you should. Feeling guilty about all the things you wish you would have done. I’m trying to remember all the memories and the lessons he taught me. It’s only been a few months for me and the painful moments don’t stop, they just become less frequent. I don’t think so. The most tempting thing would be gaming the system so I could be rich and successful. I could also be more present and kinder to some people who have since passed away. But the reason I don’t think I would do it is because I would lose all my friends. There’s no way as a 32-year-old in an 11-year-old life that I’d be able to socialize normally. The whole reason the Bible gave for the mark being put on Cain was to protect him - to let others know any harm they inflicted on him would come back to them seven times over.
